Why and who should attend this workshop

This workshop is primarily designed for doctors preparing for the OSCE examination, a crucial requirement for obtaining their läkarlegitimation in Sweden. However, we strongly recommend this workshop to all healthcare professionals aspiring to work in Sweden.

The OSCE exam is fundamentally an assessment of your ability to communicate effectively with patients in Swedish, a combination of your Swedish language skills and medical knowledge.

You may have studied Swedish extensively, practiced medical terminology, and read numerous articles, but have you ever had the chance to examine a Swedish patient and engage in real communication while being observed by an experienced surgeon or doctor from Sweden? Have you received direct feedback from them? This workshop provides you with that opportunity, even without being in Sweden. It is a rare chance to practice patient communication skills in Swedish with native doctors, offering you invaluable experience before you make the move to Sweden.

Requirement to join

The only requirement to join this workshop is being able to communicate in Swedish at a minimum B1 level.

The grammar is for the conversation you have at the end of it.

Half of every week is spoken Swedish with a teacher who answers in Swedish, so the first real conversation is not the frightening one.

  • They have Swedish courses as long as medical Swedish and OSCE preparation course. I have taken all of them and I recommend them to anyone who wants to learn Swedish. And if you are a doctor who is planning to go to Sweden, Swedish Brain is the right choice as you can find all kinds of resources and help you need from them. Teacher Jimmy truely cares about his students and encourages them in the process. There are also other amazing teachers for the talking practice and medicine-related courses. I wish they have C2 Swedish course— this is how much I Iiked the courses.

  • Michelle ile Tıbbi İsveççe kursunu tamamladım. Türkiye’de çalışan bir hekim olarak İsveç sağlık sistemi ile farklılıklardan kaynaklı gerek tıbbi anamnez alma gerekse ”patient journal” adı verilen hasta kayıtlarının tutulması konusunda kursun bana yardımcı olduğuna inanıyorum. Ayrıca PT öncesi pratik sınav zorunluluğu kararı sonrasında kursta birçok OSCE istasyonunu deneme ve pratik yapma deneyimini edindim. Bu açıdan da oldukça faydalıydı. Michelle birçok konuda yardımcı oldu ve işimizi kolaylaştırdı. Bu kursu düşünenlere tavsiye ederim.

In short: I finished Medical Swedish with Michelle. It helped with taking a history and writing the patient journal, and I practised many OSCE stations.
