Swedish Brain is an online school in Lerum, outside Gothenburg. We teach Swedish live, in small groups on Zoom, to adults who want to work or study in Sweden. Since we started, more than 450 people have studied with us. More than 90 percent of them are healthcare professionals, and more than 200 have already obtained their Swedish medical licence and now work in Swedish healthcare. Their success is our strongest proof of quality.
How we teach
Every course is live. Two evenings a week you meet your main teacher for a two-hour lesson; two evenings a week you meet a conversation teacher who speaks only Swedish with you. Lessons are recorded and shared the same day, so missing one because of a shift or a small child costs you nothing. Course books are included, and general courses come with unlimited written feedback and a weekly Conversation Club that is open to everyone.
The medical faculty
Medical Swedish and OSCE preparation are led by Michelle Sevastik, a licensed physiotherapist who graduated from the Karolinska Institute in 2015 and is academically responsible for course design, pedagogy, and learning outcomes. She teaches with specialist doctors and a specialist dentist who practise in Swedish hospitals. Several of them passed the OSCE as foreign doctors themselves.

A C1 test written by our own teachers
Our Swedish C1 test is designed and marked entirely by Swedish Brain’s own certified teachers of Swedish as a second language. Socialstyrelsen, the National Board of Health and Welfare, recognises the certificate, and it supports the licensing process for healthcare professionals. You can read more about the Swedish C1 test.
