We offer a C1 level Swedish language test aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Developed by licensed educators in Sweden, this test ensures credibility and precision. It is ideal for demonstrating the high level of Swedish often required by employers. Notably, our certificate is recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) for medical licensing applications.
The test is designed and evaluated entirely by Swedish Brain’s certified teachers in Swedish as a second language. It has no medical or profession-specific profile, and it is open to all professions, not only healthcare workers.
How the exam day runs
You can sit the test online from anywhere in the world, or on site at our exam centre in Turkey. The online exam is taken on the secure platform exam.net and monitored live via Zoom. You need two devices: one computer or laptop for the exam, and one phone or tablet with a camera and microphone for live monitoring. The camera must clearly show you, your screen, and your workspace.
Join Zoom 30 minutes before the start for the ID check and setup. We provide demo test keys so you can try the system before your exam day, and we hold an open Zoom meeting before each exam where you can ask questions and check your setup. The link and time are sent to your email.
Results and retakes
Each test is assessed by two evaluators and the grade is either Pass or Fail. Results are announced within 5 to 10 working days after the exam. If you fail only one section, you can retake that specific section for free after six months. If you fail more than one section, you must retake the entire exam and apply again as a new candidate.
Past papers
Every previous sitting is published in full, with the answer keys (facit) and the listening audio. They are the single best way to prepare: work through a whole paper under time, then mark it against the facit.

How to prepare
Our General Swedish C1 course is built to take you to this level, and C1 students get a discount on the test. If you are preparing on your own, the C1 test guide explains what the test is, how it is assessed and what to read and listen to.
